I took another exam, only this time I didn’t do nearly as good as before. I only got 100%.

I’m a failure as an over-achieving student.

Yesterday I found out that I got 109% on my first Microecon test. I guess the professor grades on a curve, too.

My New Bialetti Moka Express

Since I’m always on the prowl for better coffee, my next stop was the Bialetti Moka Express. Developed in the 1930’s, the original Moka Pot was a staple in every Italian home. Long story short, it’s a stovetop espresso maker which is the next best thing to buying an expensive machine. The best part is for under thirty dollars you can make delicious espresso in minutes.

I’ve gone through about half a pound of coffee over the weekend, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. I can now make espresso at home without spending hundreds of dollars for an espresso machine. On top of that, it’s much easier to use; It’s just as simple to use as any drip coffee maker. All you have to do is add water, finely-ground coffee, and some heat. After using it, cleaning it is just a matter of rinsing it out (It’s actually recommended that you don’t use soap, just water).

I haven’t had the chance to experiment with any drinks, so I’ve been drinking the espresso straight out of the pot. I bought the 3-cup model (and I wish I had went with the 6-cup), and it’s perfect if I want to drink 2 small cups of espresso. I’m considering buying the 6-cup or 12-cup pot for when I have company.
